QUINTANAPALLA. CAMINO DE AMORES

Carlos II y María Luisa de Orleans se casaron en Versalles tras una boda por poderes celebrada el 31 de agosto de 1679. Ambos contrayentes ratificaron su compromiso en el municipio de Quintanapalla el 11 de noviembre del mismo año. Según las crónicas de la época el monarca se enamoró desde el principio de su esposa francesa, sobrina de los Reyes Luis XIV de Francia y Carlos II de Inglaterra.

Desde el año 2006 se realiza la recreación teatralizada de este hecho histórico en el pueblo de Quintanapalla. Se basa en la versión elaborada por Andrés y Ana García, de Ronco Teatro a partir de la obra original de Fray Valentín de la Cruz “Camino de Amores”.

La representación se realiza en el pórtico de la Iglesia y el público se distribuye en la esplanada urbanizada que existe frente a ella y desde donde se contempla una magnífica vista de los campos de cereal del territorio y al fondo la Sierra de Atapuerca. Los vecinos disponen sillas y bancos para que el público pueda asistir mas cómodamente a la representación y cuya entrada es gratuita.

Al término de ella se puede disfrutar de la gastronomía del territorio en los establecimientos existentes en la mancomunidad.
